Failed 911 Call

The Breakdown

This has to be the best post that I have created so far. I wanted a story that didn't make sense as a story, but made my readers really think about what just happened he story and I found that story and it left me in tears, but believe me they weren’t sad tears, but tears of laughter. I discovered a post from 2011 by Jessica Hopper from the ABC News network. She covered a story of a Home Intruder Calls 911 on Homeowner. In the Portland, Oregon region lurked the intruder, Timothy Chapek. He broke into the house not knowing that the homeowner would be arriving shortly.

     

The Case

Upon returning home, house owner Hilary Mackenzie and her daughter heard a man’s voice , which he later told Mackenzie was Chapek. He leaped into the bathroom and for some mysterious reason thought it was best to call 911. According to the 911 report:

When asked what his name is, he grows quiet, saying the homeowners can hear him. The homeowner, Hilary Mackenzie, can be heard confronting Chapek. Her two German Shepherds can be heard barking during the call.Mackenzie asks, “Why are you in my house taking a shower?" Chapek responds, "I broke in. I was kidnapped.”

Chapek claims that some men kidnapped him and put him in the bathroom. Mackenzie stood in awe, laughing at the fact that not only that he had called the police, but that he was voluntarily giving her all kinds of information. The good ABC News network also provides us with a funny version of his Audio 911 Call.

In the end it was unclear if Chapek was under the influence or just simply mental. He was arrested and put in the Multnomah county jail, but didn’t steal anything, so he was only charged with a misdemeanor for criminal trespassing. They checked his records and discovered that he had an extensive criminal record that only consisted of non-violent crimes.

Word of Advice: I don’t encourage criminal activity, but if you plan to commit a crime you should probably at least make it worth your time or just don't do it at all. That way you wont be on the front cover of the Gaston Gazette or Lockup.

Where did Epic Fail Originate From?

This somewhat considered cache has been thrown around more than you could think of, but what many people fail to realize is who really put this phrase on the map. I found some interesting information and most of what I  learned was not relevant to me. In the first case I learned that the term was used in the early game of "Dungeons and Dragons."

This game,created a little over thirty years back, was a role playing game in which the player had to complete different various tasks. I found it quite interesting that if you rolled and the difficulty of your task was low that not only was it considered an epic failure, but your character in the game is expected to stab themselves in the eye and wear an eye patch as a constant reminder of their ineptitude.

This game would be wonderful if not only you were playing with somebody that you didn’t like, but if that person actually had to stab their eyeball out. Yeah, that’s right keep on staring so that I can get that other one out too o_X!

                 In another case it dates back to a Neo Geo arcade game called “Blazing Star.” It was produced in 1998 originally the sequel to another japanese shooter game called Pulstar. To be honest this game was mostly noted for its bad japanese to english translation. On this very informational website called Slate, they gave us the funny message that runs across your game screen when you complete a level it reads  "You beat it! Your skill is great!" If you lose, you are mocked: "You fail it! Your skill is not enough! See you next time! Bye bye!

What My Blog's All About

I chose epic fails because of course everybody loves a good laugh. My blog is not to criticize or bash anyone, but to make people laugh until their insides hurt. I love to make others laugh. I’m not a comedian, but most people see me as one. I like to search the web and find things that can not only make you laugh, but make you think. I find it annoying when people make blogs so serious. You have to put yourself in the blog. It is basically a reflection of you and that’s what I hope to accomplish as a blogger.

What You'll Learn

For my readers I want you to learn how to just simply laugh. Research shows that laughter is the best stress reliever. All you need to do is to sit back and enjoy the blogs. My sole purpose is to entertain you with the epic fails that always seem to happen throughout the world.

My Own Personal Epic Fail

I myself have had many epic fails. Such as when I first learned to ride a bike, I was flying down the road and may I say I was looking mighty fine, and then the unthinkable happened. In the heat of the moment I had forgotten how to use my brakes. I went from on top of the world, to down in the ditch. That’s right I fell right in the ditch. I pouted and shouted, but of course everyone around me was busting out laughing. 



Hint: You see epic fails are those times when you look at something and you realize what just happened or what you just witnessed and you laugh until yours laughs turn into tears. You can’t hide them, but you can always reflect on them.
